Mid '80s, my dad wanted me to buy a friend's '79 El Camino. It was really low mileage at the time, something under 20k, and he would sell it to me for $2500. No thanks. That era of El is just terrible, not matter what cool built up/sleeper/non-sleeper version you can find to show me. I had my eyes on an '85 CRX SI that I eventually bought instead.

Had it been a pre'78 (although the 73-77 design ain't great), I'd have been all over it. Especially anything from 1972 backwards. The late 70s/early 80s El Camino/Malibu/whatever else was built on that chassis cause me to have serious seizures.
